The University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO) will be featured during a special edition of In View, hosted by the internationally known, Emmy-award winning Larry King. is an educational series that aims to inform and enlighten viewers both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics such as medicine, environmental science, agriculture, architecture, business, and technology. The series profiles stories that have an impact on the lives of many and showcases the work of the Nation's most innovative individuals.

This special edition of In View will focus on natural disasters. It will feature GSO's Hurricanes: Science and Society project funded by the National Science Foundation and its comprehensive interactive website (www.hurricanescience.org) as an essential resource for hurricane education and preparedness. Members of the HSS Team, including URI principal investigators Gail Scowcroft and Isaac Ginis, will be spotlighted during the episode. The half-hour documentary will air on the Discovery Channel, Monday April 8th, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. EDT and PDT.
